Zusammenfassung:An equation has been developed for calculating Young's modulus for a wide range of high temperature carbon fibres with an axially symmetrical supercrystallite structure. This equation includes the elastic constants of the graphite crystallite and experimentally determined mean textural and macrostructural properties of the fibre. The calculated values were in good agreement with measured moduli values on C fibres obtained from various raw materials (polyacrylonitrile, viscose and oxidized pitches). Graphs. 9 ref.--AA
