Zusammenfassung: | Utilization of an electrochemical technique to dissolve hydrogen into a Ti alloy to replace the H environment in thermochemical processing is discussed. Microstructures and hardness of this new processed Ti--6Al--4V alloy are reported. Surface hardening of Ti--6Al--4V alloy can be performed by electrochemical charging, subsequent solution treatment, followed by dehydrogenation to obtain an equiaxed alpha grain in transformed beta matrix. The hardness of the surface layer can be enhanced by the present developing process. |
