Zusammenfassung: | Tensile modulus of elasticity for unidirectional carbon fibre composites increases proportionally with increasing stress (or strain). This phenomenon has been known as a stress stiffening effect. In the present paper tensile load to elongation response for carbon fibre single filament samples was studied precisely by a mechanical measurement technique. It was found that the stress induced stiffening effect is intrinsic characteristics of the carbon fibre. |
