Zusammenfassung:The spectral and thermal behavior of nickel hydroxide electrode materials was examined as a function of charging, of time and of the kind of alkali hydroxide present during electrodeposition. It has been ascertained that the charged and discharged states have different properties, referrable to different kinds and amounts of ionic and molecular species present in the hydroxide structure. In particular some species, that are lost from the lattice only by heating to a proper temperature, are bound with different strengths and therefore play a role in electrode stability and discharge behavior.
