Zusammenfassung:A study of the thermoelastohydrodynamic effects in journal bearings is presented. The finite element method has been used to solve the governing equations. The conventional three-dimensional energy equation is modified to account for the flow of lubricant in the cavitation region. The journal temperature is established by satisfying the condition of thermal equilibrium of the journal. The performance characteristics and stability margins of a two-axial-groove journal bearing are studied.
