Zusammenfassung:The strength of sintered and HiPed duplex ceramics is reduced and the toughness increased compared with the respective matrix data. The transformability of the ZrO2 particles in the incorporated zones is examined. The retained strength of duplex ceramics after mechanically introduced damage is better than the pure matrix. Normalised strength, normalised toughness, and mechanical damage resistance of duplex ceramics is related to an internal stress intensity factor generated around the pressure zone. 15 refs.
