Zusammenfassung: | In this issue of the Journal, Hitchcock and colleagues1 present the latest findings, documenting impairing posttraumatic symptomatology in this age group and extending previous research about developmentally appropriate criteria for PTSD. [...]the number of Cluster C (avoidance/numbing) signs was dropped from 3 to 1. Several disorders have had some initial research in this regard, but harking back to the model of PTSD-YC—in which detailed case studies and clinical observations led to diagnostic modifications, followed by systematic evaluation and further refinement, and ultimately, demonstration of a valid developmental subtype of a disorder—has much future promise beyond PTSD. |
