Chemical structure and mechanical properties of a number of aromatic polyketones

Limiting strength and relaxation properties and heat stability were studied of a number of aromatic polyketones with various chemical structures. It was found that these polymers can be easily shaped into monolithic products with enhanced impact strength and good bending strength. The effect of chemical structure on thermal stability was investigated, as characterized by relaxation mechanical measurements in a broad strain and temperature range.
