Zusammenfassung:Mode I and Mode II delamination fractures are investigated in glass, carbon and Kevlar fabric-reinforced composites. The effects of the angle of reinforcement and of the fibre volume content are examined particularly. The main conclusion is that in designing a fabric-reinforced composite for maximum resistance to delamination, the axes of the fabric must form an angle of 45° with respect to the expected delamination direction.
