Synthesis and properties of some new reduced niobate compounds

We report some of the physical properties of recently reported reduced niobates, Ba 2Nb 5O 9 and Sr 2Nb 5O 9, that contain unusual niobium clusters. We also report the synthesis of some new related potassium niobate compounds.
