Zusammenfassung:	The sound pressure levels of noise emitted by 4994 individual motor vehicles of different categories plying on the roads of the city of Visakhapatnam in four main localities, having different types of road conditions and environments, have been measured. The percentile distribution versus the sound pressure level emitted for different categories have been plotted graphically and the average level emitted by each category of vehicles is computed. The data is analyzed statistically and discussed.
