Simultaneous sintering and crystallization of a MgO-Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 glass powder

The glass composition was 63.1% SiO2, 10.2% Al2O3, 13.6% Li2O, 10.2% MgO and 2.9% TiO2 nucleating agent. On firing compacts to 750C, sintering to full density and crystallization of Li2Si2O5 and Li2SiO3 occured rapidly. 13 refs.
