Dynamic strength and crack resistance of metals at low temperatures

Previously abstracted from original as item 8903-6.1-0102Y. Results are presented of mechanical tests of Armco-iron, steels with different levels of statistical strength, D16 Al alloy for uniaxial tension with the deformation rate up to 10 exp 4 s exp --1 and for the crack resistance with the rate of change in stress intensity coefficients KI up to 3 x 10 exp 7 MPa m exp 1/2 s exp --1 within the temperature range of 77-293K. Results of the conducted investigations contradict the hypothesis about the equivalent effect, on mechanical characteristics of metals, of the temperature fall and increase of the loading rate. 11 ref.--X-ref.
