Prominent Elongation of the Gallbladder due to Segmental Adenomyomatosis
Laboratory tests showed a total bilirubin of 1.60 mg/dL (direct: 0.60 mg/dL and indirect: 1.0 mg/dL), alanine aminotransferase of 439 IU/L, aspartate aminotransferase of 188 IU/L, alkaline phosphatase of 285 IU/L, and a gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase of 237 U/L. For study complementation, a liver and...

Zusammenfassung: | Laboratory tests showed a total bilirubin of 1.60 mg/dL (direct: 0.60 mg/dL and indirect: 1.0 mg/dL), alanine aminotransferase of 439 IU/L, aspartate aminotransferase of 188 IU/L, alkaline phosphatase of 285 IU/L, and a gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase of 237 U/L. For study complementation, a liver and bile duct ultrasound was performed, which identified three intraluminal stones within the gallbladder (two at the body and one at the neck) and a prominent common bile duct of 5.8 mm diameter with a stone in the intrapancreatic portion of 7.3 × 3.8 mm size at the hilum level. [...]its differentiation from neoplastic gallbladder thickening and frequent association with the latter should alert clinicians to avoid delayed diagnosis of the disease. 4 Declaration of Conflicting Interests The author(s) declared no potential conflicts of interest with respect to the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article. |
