Zusammenfassung:The patterns and mechanism of the postradiation oxidation of N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyldiaminodiphenyl methane in PVC irradiated at 77 K in presence of CBr 4 have been studied. Spectrophotometry and ESR have established the sensitizing influence of the additives introduced on the reaction of dehydrochlorination of PVC. The polyenyl radicals of PVC formed on heating take part in the oxidation of the amine in the temperature range 200–300 K raising 50 times the radiation yield of the oxidized form of the amine. Postradiation oxidation of the amine in the region 77–200 K occurs with the participation of the cation radicals of the amine and in the interval 200–300 K the polyenyl radicals.
