Zusammenfassung:A polarized-neutron-diffraction experiment is described, aimed at detecting the asphericity of the orbital magnetic density of Ni. The results indicate that the orbital magnetic density is much more spherical than predicted by the atomic model. The experimental finding is fully consistent with that calculated on the basis of the itinerant-electron theory, in which the spin-orbit interaction has been taken into account. 14 ref.--AA
