Zusammenfassung:The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) came about as a result of the Chicago Convention which entered into force in 1947. The aim of the Organization was to encourage the 'safe and orderly growth of international civil aviation'. The author examines the role of the ICAO in the area of the resolution of disputes concerning United States initiated regulation; regulatory issues; bias and discrimination in computer reservation systems, airport navigation and user fees; and adjudication. He examines ICAO dispute resolution machinery and specific cases involving methods of dispute resolution and arbitration in international aviation disputes.
