Zusammenfassung: | Cardiopulmonary bypass is occasionally required during the procedure alluding to the increased morbidity and mortality of this option.3,4 When the patient is hemodynamically stable, EV repair is considered, as it is shown to decrease morbidity, blood loss, procedural time, and length of stay. 4 In addition, EV surgery is the procedure of choice in patients with contraindications to open repair, secondary to medical comorbidities or hostile surgical field. Without an adequate distal landing zone, placement of stent graft risks coverage of the right carotid artery and subsequent ischemic stroke. Complications of EV repair include dissection, inadvertent occlusion of right carotid artery resulting in ischemic stroke, graft infection, and access-related complications (hematoma, pseudoaneurysm, bleeding, dissection, and occlusion-causing limb ischemia). |
