[...]the accumulation of these sometimes minor interactions can cause distress over time due to the consistent experience. [...]studies have shown that Black Americans have experienced such behaviors as intense fear, frustration, anxiety, and avoidance of stress inducing stimuli, which are behaviors that are described in the additional criteria for PTSD (Holmes et al., 2016).
