Reliability of a Consecutive-k-out-of-n:F System for Markov-Dependent Components

We examine a consecutive-k-out-of-n:F system, where the probability of failure of a component depends upon the state, (good or failed) of the preceding component; ie, the states of the components form a Markov chain. We compute the reliability of such a system, via a recurrence relation.
