Zusammenfassung: | Barium titanate (BaTiO sub 3 ) powder was dispersed in aqueous solutions containing different additives. The particle-packing behavior was investigated and compared with results from organic solvent systems. Two polyelectrolytes were found to be the best dispersants of the additives tested in pure water. A solution of 1.0 wt.% Darvan C in deionized water gave a sediment density that was approx 50% of the measured powder density, which is comparable with the best densities obtained in the organic systems. The density of the Darvan C compact after sintering at 1250 deg C for 1 h was approx 99% of the theoretical density. The grain growth during sintering was affected by the solution used in the compaction process. 17 ref.--AA |
