Zusammenfassung: | The patient’s postoperative course was complicated by a bile leak/abscess requiring ERCP with stent placement and a percutaneous drain. [...]in the review by Devaney et al 2 of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, no deaths were recorded in women in 30 patient-years of follow-up. Unroofing a biliary cystadenoma as the sole treatment frequently results in early recurrence of the lesion within 2 years. [...]unroofing alone is inadequate. [...]biliary cystadenoma and biliary cystadenocarcinoma are also now known as noninvasive and invasive biliary mucinous cystic neoplasms, respectively. Because this newer World Health Organization nomenclature seems to be still in evolution, we chose to use the terms already familiar to surgeons. |
