Energy transfer in the luminescent system Na(Y,Gd)F sub 4 :Ce,Tb

Quantum efficiency of luminescence at 300 K is > 90%, which is promising for low-pressure Hg discharge lamps. Difficulties relate to incomplete Ce sup 3sup + excitation energy transfer.
