Zusammenfassung: | This paper, which is an extension of an earlier work, investigates four different hole-drilling techniques in seven metals (Al(6061), Cu, Ti, Zr, stellite, carbon and stainless steels) to determine their applicability for the center-hole method. These four techniques are quantitatively compared on the basis of induced stresses, hole geometry, and controllability. They are also qualitatively compared on the basis of portability and ease of use. In general, the high-speed drilling technique was applicable for the center-hole method and in all specimens except extremely hard materials. 7 ref.--S.K.B. |
