Zusammenfassung: | A summary of the design criteria, status of the transmitter and signal processing technology, and features of the various existing heterodyne CO2-laser radars is presented. Among the systems described are: a satellite tracking system with a 1.4-GHz bandwidth; a high-power short-pulse rangefinder; a pulsed Doppler lidar with frequency resolution corresponding to a 2-m/s radial velocity and prf of up to 25 Hz for atmospheric studies; and a CW waveguide-laser true airspeed system for installation on aircraft. Consideration is also given to such aspects as the choice of waveform with respect to accuracy and Doppler shift tolerance for systems operating at wavelengths near 10 microns, fluctuation /coherence of the return signal, and aperture size and field of view. |
