Zusammenfassung:In order to clarify the basic designs and determinations of optimum operating conditions of pelletizers for sinter raw materials, a study has been made on particle flow in pelletizers and granulation. Following results are obtained : (1) The granulating characteristic is determined by the rolling length of particles in the pelletizer. (2) Basic designs of the pelletizers are found from the rolling length. (3) An optimum operating condition of a drum mixer is on a boundary line between normal cascade zone and cataract zone. There is Froude number that gives an optimum operating condition of a disc pelletizer.
