Zusammenfassung:[...]on follow up walled off necrosis (WON) tend to liquefy and a study has reported that almost half of necrotic collections completely liquefy at 6 months after onset of disease, thereby resembling pseudocysts [5,6]. [...]we disagree that pseudocyst is a rarity, both in adults as well as children: its reported frequency simply depends upon a combination of the above mentioned factors. [...]in our study, all the children, after an initial ultrasound evaluation, had undergone EUS and or MRI, as was deemed appropriate, for accurate differentiation between pseudocyst and WON, at the point of intervention. [...]unlike previous studies on paediatric PFC, we made a careful and meticulous attempt to differentiate between pseudocyst and WON. Despite the inherent limitations of a retrospective analysis, our study is a large sample size study that has studied the clinical course as well as outcome of various PFC’s, in accordance with the revised Atlanta Classification, in children.
