Zusammenfassung: | Thermooxidative stability of crosslinked polypropylene was investigated. Surprisingly high stability was observed when polypropylene was crosslinked with peroxide in the presence of coagents
p-benzoquinone or hydroquinone. It is suggested that binding of the coagent into a polymer network prevents the outlet of the quinone from the polymer at oxidation temperature. This is the main reason for the increase of thermooxidative stability due to crosslinking. |
