Zusammenfassung:Low cycle thermal shock fatigue crack initiation, and the microstructural changes in materials during this process, have been studied for three types of steam pipeline steels. The roles of thermal strain ageing, subgrain formation, dislocation density, high temperature void formation and grain boundary segregations have been studied and the number of cycles needed for the formation of microcracks has been established.
