Zusammenfassung: | Identifying pulmonary nodules for resection that are small or are deep within the lung parenchyma is a frequently encountered challenge during video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). Several image-guided localizing techniques have been described; however, there is limited literature on using these techniques in pediatric patients. We assessed the feasibility of using a commercially available ethylene-vinyl alcohol polymer (EVOH) as an alternative technique for lung nodule localization prior to VATS. We describe our experience of successful EVOH lung nodule localization in three pediatric patients with an oncologic history presenting with new lung nodules. |
