Zusammenfassung: | This proceedings records the seventh of a series of gatherings convened for the ultimate purpose of establishing a unified method in computational mechanics. This method is to be used in solving complex engineering problems containing subregions of radically differing physical and geometrical characteristics, which cannot be solved using any single method. The identification of various methodologies, each suitable for a particular subregion, and their unification, has been a recent goal for participating researchers. Flowcharts illustrate stages of the process. Many of the papers presented address these stages. The volume is dedicated to a participating researcher, J. H. Argyris, a pioneer in the field, and includes a dedicatory essay and list of the dedicatee's academic and professional distinctions. |
