Zusammenfassung: | Familiarity with theoretical calculation of the spatial distribution of longitudinal and transverse waves created by AE sources such as microcracking (mode I: opening) and plastic deformation (mode II: shearing) is assumed. The experimental method is described. Longitudinal and transverse AE waves emitted by a CT 25 steel sample, precracked by fatigue, are recorded. The distribution of longitudinal waves in the space seems to correspond to mode I sources. Transverse waves are measured with an amplitude corresponding to those calculated in mode I. |
