Zusammenfassung:Crystalline-to-amorphous (CA) transitions can be induced in intermetallic compounds by electron irradiation in a high-voltage electron microscope. Induced CA transitions in a variety of intermetallic compounds, including NiTi, MoNi, ZrAl sub 2 , Zr sub 2 Ni, Fe sub 2 Ti and CuZr, are reported. Of the 20 compounds investigated, 12 underwent a CA transition. Eleven of the 12 compounds were of transition metals. 17 ref.--G.P.K.
