Zusammenfassung: | BACKGROUNDNeurenteric cysts rarely present in infancy. Compressive myelopathy or meningitis are the usual presenting features of these cysts in infants. CASE DESCRIPTIONWe discuss a case of intradural extramedullary neurenteric cyst at the cervicomedullary junction in a 2-month-old infant who presented with features of acute onset flaccid upper limb weakness. The cyst was excised completely and the child improved. CONCLUSIONSAlthough rare, compressive lesions such as neurenteric cysts may present with acute flaccid paralysis in very young children. Differentiating from other causes and timely intervention bears an excellent outcome. |
