Zusammenfassung: | Several intermediate and high resolution spectrograms for 27 Herbig Ae/Be stars are presented. The spectrograms were obtained in the 3620-4960 A wavelength and were characterized by complex Balmer lines and normal photospheric lines. The Balmer line profiles are grouped into three categories: single-peak, double-peak, and P Cyg profiles which retain their shape within the Balmer series of certain stars. Radial velocities for photospheric absorption lines, Balmer emission and absorption features, and Ca II absorption data are obtained and compared with the radial velocities of associated molecular clouds. It is found that: (1) the mean absorption line velocities do not indicate any systematic motion of the stars relative to the molecular clouds; (2) the position of the absorption reversal of a Balmer line in double-peak profiles coincides with the errors in stellar velocities; and (3) the velocities of the P Cyg profiles are indicative of moving envelopes with wind speeds of several km/s. The data provide a kinematic argument for the hypothesis that Herbig Ae/Be stars are PMS objects physically associated with their parent molecular clouds. |
