The following reaction orders were found for the anodic process: Z a(Cl −) = 1.7 –1.82 and Z a(H +) = 0. The following mechanism of dissolution is proposed: Fe+Cl − ⇌ FeCl − ads , FeCl − ads +Cl − → FeCl 2+2 e (rate-determining step), FeCl 2⇌FeP 2+ + 2Cl −.
