Zusammenfassung: | Reaction at the interface in metal--ceramic bonding is reviewed. It is stated that the bonding strength does not necessarily increase in proportion to the thickness of the reaction layer. It was observed that the types of reaction between the metals and ceramics contribute greatly to the bonding strength. Ti, for example, added to a steel--Si sub 3 N sub 4 bonding improves the bonding efficiency, and there is an optimum value for the proportion of Ti to steel--Si sub 3 N sub 4 , in order to create the best condition for the reaction. The necessity of study into the reaction types at interfaces is said to be important for the achievement of better quality bonding. 11 ref.--M.L. |
