Disaccommodation in a nearly zero magnetostriction metallic glass

Disaccommodation (DA) and accommodation (A) processes showing up in the time dependence of the permeability were investigated in Fe-Co-based metallic glasses with nearly zero magnetostriction. It was found that in some alloys there are anomalously large DA and A processes. Both DA and A were considerably affected by the absence of an external magnetic field after demagnetization (delay time — or waiting time — t w). The observations are interpreted as a pinning effect of the mobile defect structure in as-quenched amorphous alloys.
