Comment on the substructure synthesis methods
The relationship of the substructure-synthesis (SS) method of Hale and Meirovitch (1982) and the dynamic-reduction (DR) method (Sotiropoulos, 1978 and 1984; Leung, 1979) is investigated analytically. Zusammenfassung: | The relationship of the substructure-synthesis (SS) method of Hale and Meirovitch (1982) and the dynamic-reduction (DR) method (Sotiropoulos, 1978 and 1984; Leung, 1979) is investigated analytically. It is pointed out that the SS method of Hale and Meirovitch, unlike other SS approaches, uses substructure static-response functions to iteratively improve the linearly independent admissible functions representing each substructure. A similar iterative improvement scheme is developed for the DR method, and the similarities between SS and DR are explored. |
