Zusammenfassung: | It is shown that the problem of the axial anomaly in supergravity not disappearing with N of three or greater can be resolved by incorporating an axial anomaly of an antisymmetric tensor and by refining the definition of the axial anomaly in supergravity. The axial anomaly of antisymmetric tensors described by second-order Lagrangians in boson fields is shown to be nonzero, and this result is used to correctly determine the axial anomaly. The anomaly turns out to be equal to the conformal anomaly in supergravities with N = 1, . . ., 8. At N of three or greater, both anomalies disappear. |
