The electrochemical behaviour of pyrite has been studied in 1 M sulfuric acid. Voltammetric experiments were carried out with synthetic pyrite, using a carbon paste electrode. In this medium, the anodic oxidation of FeS 2 occurs at + 0.98 V vs sce and leads to the formation of Fe 3+, S and H 2SO 4....
