The findings of Sun et al, on the other hand, reflect the importance of lifestyle management in BP lowering from an early age.2 9 11 The lowered threshold of the definition of hypertension in the 2017 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guideline on the prevention, detection, evaluation and management of high BP9 substantially increases the prevalence of hypertension in the general population, particularly in the young.
