GESIM: Image management system for TIFF structures

GESIM is a system for the storage and retrieval of a great amount of images. The images are stored with TIFF format as part of a database structure. This structure allows the organization and management of a great amount of TIFF images, maintaining the relationship between the different images. The simplicity of the structure and procedures incorporated by GESIM eases its use for the analysis and treatment of images and graphic software allowing integration with textual information databases. The system allows the retrieval of the images using as a selector any of the labels (tags) included in the TIFF format. Additionally, GESIM allows the grouping of related images in independent volumes within the same database. GESIM is a library of functions developed in Microsoft C and also has a user interface that allows the use of its functions through pop-up menus, which makes the procedure easier for non-expert users.
