Zusammenfassung: | [...]catheter ablation for AF is more effective than antiarrhythmics in maintaining sinus rhythm, and improving quality of life in paroxysmal AF patients [10]. [...]recent data have emerged showing that catheter ablation for AF in patients with systolic heart failure yields a reduction in morbidity and mortality [11]. The article details various treatment targets, including renal denervation, ablation of the atrial ganglionated plexi, vagal nerve stimulation, baroreflex stimulation and carotid body ablation, to reduce the impact of autonomic dysregulation on atrial changes and AF burden. Renal denervation reduced oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction and renin-angiotensin system activation while ablation of the ganglionated plexi and vagal nerve stimulation led to decreased AF inducibility by abolishing SDB-induced electrophysiological changes. |
