Lamb-dip observation with a Q-switched CO2 laser
Heterodyning a passively Q-switched CO2 laser against a stable CW CO2 laser produced an approximately 0.2-MHz-wide beat frequency. The line width of the Q-switched CO2 laser is thus sufficiently narrow to stabilize the laser on the Lamb dip in the 4.3 micron fluorescence of CO2.
