Zusammenfassung: | The vibrational response of orthotropic composite cylindrical shells subjected to axial compression is examined, following a refined Love-type theory. Results obtained are compared with those predicted by Donnell-type theory, as found in the literature. Important effects due to shell lay-up, length to radius ratio, radius to thickness ratio and fiber reversal are noted from the calculations performed for a number of double and triple-layered shells. |
