C3H8 and C3H4 in Titan's atmosphere

Four bands of propane C 3 H 8 and two of methyl acetylene C 3 H 4 have been identified in the Voyager IR spectrum of Titan. Stratospheric abundances of 2 × 10 −5 for C 3 H 8 and 3 × 10 −8 for C 3 H 4 have been determined for the mid-latitude region. A feature at 1,154 cm −1 , previously assigned sol...

Zusammenfassung:Four bands of propane C 3 H 8 and two of methyl acetylene C 3 H 4 have been identified in the Voyager IR spectrum of Titan. Stratospheric abundances of 2 × 10 −5 for C 3 H 8 and 3 × 10 −8 for C 3 H 4 have been determined for the mid-latitude region. A feature at 1,154 cm −1 , previously assigned solely to CH 3 D, is now identified at least in part due to C 3 H 8 .
