Photometry of some carbon stars at 1-2.5 microns

Observations were made of eight carbon stars at 1-2.5 microns. It was found that the radiation of some of these stars contains excess emission, which may be due to dust circumstellar shells. It was established that this excess is correlated to the carbon content. It is noted that this correlation co...

Zusammenfassung:Observations were made of eight carbon stars at 1-2.5 microns. It was found that the radiation of some of these stars contains excess emission, which may be due to dust circumstellar shells. It was established that this excess is correlated to the carbon content. It is noted that this correlation contradicts ideas about the condensation of graphite dust in the atmospheres of carbon stars.
