Zusammenfassung:Starting from the equivalence principle, an aperture model is developed for calculating the radiation field of microstrip antennas. In this communication the model is applied to the rectangular microstrip resonator antenna. Antenna characteristics, like patterns and radiation resistance, are computed and compared with experimental results. The model and the calculations include the higher order modes as well as the fundamental mode of the resonator antenna.
