Zusammenfassung:The adsorption isotherms of Ca 2+, Sr 2+ and Ba 2+ ions on anatase were determined at pH 7 and at 10, 25 and 45°C by complexometric titration. The adsorption capacity increased in the series: Ba 2+ < Sr 2+ < Ca 2+ and a similar trend was found for the adsorption of these cations on rutile at pH 7 and 25°C. The isotherms had a Langmuir shape and the results fitted the Langmuir equation. The adsorption of the three cations on anatase was found to be exothermic. The adsorption density on rutile was higher than the adsorption density on anatase in the case of Ba 2+ ions but not for Ca 2+ or Sr 2+ ions. The results are discussed in trems of the hydration of the surface and of the cations.
